Starting with the 60's. Please give only one pair per decade. The best combination of frontmen and lead guitarists. Here's mine:

60's - The Doors - Jim Morrison and Robby Krieger
70's - Led Zeppelin - Page and Plant
80's - Guns 'n Roses - Axl and Slash
90's - Alice in Chains - Layne and Jerry
00's - Audioslave - Cornell and Morello

wow, 50 years goes by quick, eh?

Check your calendar, man, there was a lot of 60's stuff before Black Sabbath was even thought of.

Sam 'n Dave
The Righteous Brothers
The Beach Boys
The Everly Brothers
The Beatles
The Rolling Stones
Cream

I didn't get introduced to Ozzi, Iommi, and company until '71. I'm not at all sure they had any North American releases in the 60's!

My bad. I was pretty sure they started out in the sixties. I'll revise the sixties as:

60's - The Doors - Jim Morrison and Robby Krieger
Blues is easy to play, but hard to feel.

If you can't name all of your Beatles in my book you deserve to die. Ringo Starr *shakes fist*. You can't forget him.

Well, you just did, so unless you're going to take it back... I agree with you by the way.

LOL. Funny you should mention Simon and Garfunkel. My brother is a huge alcoholic who drinks at least 20 beers a day. I've seen him drink over 40 before though. After a while he gets so damn sloshed that public restraint is thrown to the wind, and he is the most obnoxious person on the planet. One night he was totally ripped and blaring, "The sound of silence" in my sober ears. I pointed out the irony that around my bro, you're never able to hear the sound of silence, lol :D

I would add Perry Farrel/Dave Navarro from Jane's Addiction.
