A lot of people say that zoom effect pedals suck A$s. I have a 606 and i might get a $200 pedal from zoom with 75 effects. What is wrong with them? A lot of my friends have zoom and they are happy with what they have. They also have other differentpedals and they are happy with the zoom pedal. What is wrong with them?

Do a search, it shouldn't be hard to find old threads with info here.

How much do boss pedals cost these days? Becuase the last time I saw them (couple years back) you wouldn't have had to save $80 more than for anything else to get one. I don't even remember them costing that much total.

I hope they don't cost more now, I've been planning on getting something by them soon.

I think zoom sounds a bit hollow...But they are great value.
As long as you can live without "perfect" tone and can be content with sounding good

The 505 is allright it has a retty good echo and a nice chorus.
But the down falls to it are it has a lapse inbtween patch changes which makes it unusable live. Its also plastic so it can't live forever. And the distortions sound like 10 differant models of chainsaw varying from John Deere to Bair.LOL
Plus the millions of usless sounds like"steel china",anyone else recall this one??

Hi, I a zoom effects pedal it's okay I just don't think the clean is very clean on it and the distorions on it suck because it gives the sound to much bass. So if are thinking about buying a zoom don't plan on being satisfied withit, and don't count on it being profesional quality stuff, it's only good for messing around with

I've got a Zoom 707 n I very rarely use it. The clean settings on it really suck, the amp on its own is far better, you cant bypass it, some of the effects are cool to fiddle with but not to do any serious playing on. The only time I use it is to use the wah pedal and that isnt good at all. The distortion settings on it are too noisy or not distorted enough and the reverb is very false sounding. Oh the Van Halen settin is great for feedback.
IMO. Your better off gettin a boss. Metal Zone was mentioned, I use that all the time. The sound is great but not so good for recording. The sustain from it is slight lackin too unless you wack it up full. I need a reverb pedal.

I must confess to being a fan of stompboxes rather than multi-effects units.
If anyone does go with a multi effects unit, I believe you would only be satisfied if you spent a lot of cash on a Digitech, boss or similar top-end unit...the cheaper ones are great for beginners etc, but as I see most of us have, you soon outgrowm them and realiise how comparitavley ****ty they are.
