I'm not gay!!!!
And you don't have to worry about me Chris Mood(look who has a name that suggests a problem :) ),I'm OK.
Really.
So fine,I have my issues(and they aren't gay issues),but then again,who doesn't.
Iiholly,Jolly is right, you probably wouldn't have to try too hard to get me.Maybe some, but not too much.
And don't forget, while a guitar might give you a head start, other factors might nullify that head start very easily.Like if you're a heartless, mean person, for instance.Reminds me of some grade school bully.
Or dirty. Those jokes about P**** and fish aren't entirely baseless,y'know!

There's this theory, cliche out there that it's pain that makes us artists.I'm not disputing it.I've been through my fair share of stuff, like probably eeryone else on the planet, and I suppose that association of what makes an artist is what gives the guitar-slinging girl a head start.
That we got something in common, that we object to what's happened to us(coz by and large,I think being an artist is basically taking exception to what you been through).
That "commoness" thing is the reason for the head start.
And yes,iiholy,you are heartless.

Just to spoil the mood and bring this thread back on topic, I will have to say yes. EVERY guitar friend of mine that plays in a band manages to score in the bars. The singers by far get more action though. It does depend on the preson though. It really helps if you have a good stage presence and if you just sit there and wait for girls to come up to you then you have a long wait ahead of you.

Being a beginner guitar player really doesn't help though. In fact I think it makes things harder.

Hot girl: Oh wow you play guitar.
You: You bet.
Hot girl: Hmmmmm...that's really good.

Jimmie showed me alot of stuff, but there was a time when he warned, 'If you ask me to show you anything again, I'll kick your ass.' Well, I did and he did. - SRV

I don't know how good I am. I'm better than anyone I personally know, but at the same time my tapping is a bit under par. Ok, way under par, but that's because I only did rythem work for about 4 years before working on lead like I'm doing now. And simple fact is most people are way more impressed with sh!tty lead guitar work, like 'smells like teen spirit' than they are with complex chord work.

I even have my own hybrid chord. Does that amount to something? :) better for fingerpicking than anything else.
e-2 (index)
b-0
g-4 (ring)
d-4 (flippy)
a-6 (pinky)

Nah, but it might be if I knew what it was really called.

Lets see.. it's [Ab, Eb, F#, B], B, F#.
Abm7 is [Ab, Eb, F#, B], Eb, Ab,
B is F#, B, F#, B, Eb, F#,

So..B/Ab(m7)? I dunno if it would just be written B/Ab because the C in Ab major doesn't fit. Or is it just an alternate voicing of Abm7? Any other ideas?

Don't use both sharps and flats when naming chords. That's where confusion comes from.

The notes you have there are either Ab, Eb, Gb, B, B, Gb or G#, D#, F#, B, B, F#.

Eliminating doubled notes, you have G#, D#, B, F#, which is just a G#m7 chord. If you're using flats it would be an Abm7 chord.
