If you don't then it's going to be hard. Harder than anyone looking for fun would ever want. A good tune is a good tune, but it's naive to think that alone will get you in the door. The artist who you sent it to may love it, but it's still got to pass the record company (hell the artists fav. song may not even make it on the album[depending on the label]). Like producers and sound engineers, they got there own market they would rather shop at. The business of today goes more by "who knows you" more than anything, especially entertainment. Sad but true. Without a name it's like trying to hit the lotto, good luck!

Never a truer word was spoken. Except when Joe Satriani came up to me and was like "Dude, you rock!"...oh...wait...that didn't actually happen. But Noticing is right, America (and even Canada, though not as much) is a huge place. 250 million people live in the U S of A and you're just one of them. If you don't know one of those 1% of Americans who have connections, then the music biz is a craps shoot. A craps shoot where you're betting on getting 13 and only rolling two dice.

NO SH*T BRO'! WE GOTs SOME GREAT 'T00nZz UP THERE!

Anyway, Thanx' for the comps' my good man. Most of the 'shred' crowd seems to dig the track "P.R.O.", but they're all good songs...

"Collect 'em All!" - "Trade With Your Friends!"

I write all the originals, play all the guitar tracks, and produce all of the music recorded by ELEMENT 115.
The "trio" line-up changes sometimes, so that's why the "credits" of other players won't be public until the album gets released.

Your typing is as acid trip-esque as the design of your website. I like it, sort of a "Second Law of Thermodynamics: The Webpage"

hello everyone

this is a great forum
and I hope that you all will read my humble contribution to this site abouth songwriting

I think that some good theorie books
(berklee press publications and others) will help
if stuck when writing a song
One of the main things I do is compose a song
on another instrument that I am NOT familiar with.
As a bad/louzy/nuttcase who is now been trying for
thirty years to play a suitable guitarpiece I usely
compose on a keyboard instead of the guitar.
for one of the other reasons which I don't know
and as a good rebel who lacks every harmonic
at his feet I simply :

1."BREAK ALL THE RULES OF PRINCIPLE SONGWRITING"
2."PLAY ALL WHAT SOUNDS GOOD IN EARS AND MIND AND STRAIGHT FROM THE INSIDE OF YOURSELF"
3."USE SIMPLE PHRASES WITH NO MORE THAN FIVE
USUAL BASIC CHORDS"
4."JUST MIX ALL VERSES/BRIDGES/REFRAINS AND SOLO'S UP TO SUITABLE JUICE OF NICE HEARING SOUNDS THAT YOU FEEL AS THE EMOTION YOU
WANT TO EXPRESS TO OTHERS"
5."BELIEVE THAT ALL THE GREAT COMPOSERS
HAVE ALL THE SAME TOOLS THAN YOU BUT
YOU HAVE AN ASTUCE MORE THAN THEN AND THAT IS CREATIVITY FAR ABOVE EVERYTHING"

broken guitarstring"

"no obstacle is to far, if you really want to coop with
the ups and the downs of it"

Wow so much negativity in the first 2 pages. Its a business man. You have to love writing music because thats the easy and fun part. That part that people hate and what keeps them from getting noticed is selling it.
Bass guitar is the answer to everything
