All hope's gone. My dreams are shattered. I'm just gonna sit in the corner and cry.

It's obvious to see, or hear, that I was trying to play too fast for what I can handle. I'm only in my first year and never had and lessons or really any direction other than learning tabs for songs.

Yesterday I bothered to listen to Michael Angelo, Yngwie and Chris Impellitteri so now I know what shredding really is.

It's clear to see from all the responses that it takes a sh*t load of practice, and practicing the right way to shred. I just finished my last day of school today with 2 and half months of holidays ahead fo me so I'll take the advice given and at every chance practice, practice, practice. Then, hopefully, I'll be going the right way about playing guitar.
