Go Jackson, its a sweet looking axe and its pretty cheap. Pick ups can always be customized with the money left over from not buying the ibanez.

I'll second the vote for the Jackson

Ibanez does do some decent stuff, John 5 from Marilyn Manson plays 4 diff. ax-120s. Jackson makes some nice products but their instruments tend to be costly. It's nothing rediculous, but if you're a college student like me it's enough to make a difference.

Between the two options I would go with the jackson without a doubt, but it might be a better idea not limiting yourself to just those choices.

I'm not familiar with that model Ibanez, but I'm a big fan of their products. To me the wizard necks are awesome, very slim and very fast.

I have an RG570 and I love it. I would just say play them both and eventually you'll know which one you want to take home.

Ibanez PGM...

One of Ibanez' best models. Go for it.

But don't buy it used! You can get a new one for $550! :D

Stick two EVOs in it if you want, thats another $200 probably. Although my PGM has an S3 in the bridge, and PAF Pro in the neck.

First thing I look for when I walk in a music store is which guitars have 24 frets. That usually eliminates about 99% of their stock. Then I look for the sealed music room where I can at least test it out in privacy at high volume.
Lastly I ask what the return policy is. I need to get it home, set it up properly and test it through my own equipment.

I'm a big fan of cort, but for the whole college student/rock thing you'll probably find something good from Kramer.

hey guys just wanted to let u all know that i think i will go in for the ibanez PGM-300 cos it also has vai's dimarzio pickups......and another reason is that the jackson has been lying in the shop for a overa year...and that the only piece.....
DOES A GUITAR GET SPOILT IF IT HAS BEEN LYING ARND FOR THAT LONG?
IS MY DECISION TO GETA HIGHER BUT SECOND HAND GUITAR BETTER THAN GET A LOWER BUT NEW GUITAR.....?
the PGM is just 6 months old though..the guy is selling it cos he bought a100th anniversary special steve vai jem....lucky dog......anyways...appreciate any comments....sid

Depends on the shop. Like what the humidity/temp was, how it was treated during that year, ect. Sometimes a gutiar can sit around for years on end for no problem, but you get something that's just collecting dust and you might run into some problems way before that.
