However , I've found that effect settings doesn't vary that much in case you directly plug it into a mixer or something , unlike with amps .... But usualy , people who post their patches online had them setup on their amps.

I recomend that you tweak your effects yourself to learn more about them , specialy overdrives,equalizers... While for delays and so , you can learn some usefull tricks from other people's settings.
