the strings are not alot more wide - the distance between the strings are pretty much the same as for guitar. i´ve posted a thread in the "places/sites" section of this forum with links to touchstyle-instruments. i strongly recommend to test the stick/warr/megatar/bunker/whatever-guitar before you spend ALOT of money on it. those instruments are not available in a cheap beginner version like guitars are. so you gotta expect to be paying 3 grand and more to get one of those.
the touchstyle playing on a stick or warr can not be compared to tapping on a guitar, for you hardly need to touch the strings on a stick to produce a decent tone. it takes alot of work to get the independency between left and right. mentally its like playing the piano, but still different, because you got more dimension to the play. you can add bendings, vibrato, slides, harmonics, slapping plus on a piano you just go left right and you dont have to pay as much attention to get a clear tone.
