Greetings all this is my first post.

I have a Boss GT-3 and was wondering if any of you have one and if you have any good distortion patches I could copy.

I've been playing about 6 months and I'm not so good with getting sounds yet. If I try myself I end up spending hours fiddling around instead of practicing and am always dissapointed anyway.

The kinda distortion I'd like would be 80's metallica, megadeth, pantera...

I don't own a GT-3 but if you give me some of your setting options (gain, volume, low, high, mid,) stuff like that I could give you a few ideas.

Thanks but I know the general idea I just don't have the time or skill to tweak it. I'm sure anybody who's been playing for a while and has one would have tweaked a patch or two.

I have a marshall vs30r amp and if I put the gain right up and bass, midd, treble all high I get a pretty cool distortion but then I don't have the luxury of changing patches (and its sounds terrible for soloing). I have the gt-3 through the clean channel and I can get good enough effects for everything else except heavy/thrashy distortion.

Have you tried searching the web. I know digitech offers some sites that have the settings ready for them, some of the older models. The newer model Digitech GNX3 you can download right off the net.

Search on google, you may find just what you're looking for.

Yeah, I did search the web one day and I found a site that had several patches on and loads that the links didn't work for. They weren't anything like what they were supposed to be though.

Check out Yahoo! groups. There's one for the GT-5 (I'm not positive that there's one for the GT-3), but that should still give you some good ideas, and they'd be able to give more specific help than over here.
... and that's all I have to say about that.
