settle down; the word 'custom' doesn't mean 'Fricken-Awesome".

Azrael has a 7-string guitar being made, 6 of them have frets, the 7th is a 'fretless bass string', as you'd call it. It has 36 frets, i believe, as well.

He had pictures of what it will look like (I believe they were in 'paint', the Microsoft program), and it looked very innovative. Check the search engine, you're bound to find it.

Why do you need to see the guitar again?

No, no, no; what I meant was "Why do you have to see the guitar again?" as in "Why do you need to see it, anyways?".

there there.. *pats everyone on the head*

calm down, have a valium, everythin gwill be ok ;)

ok...

The guitar, as incidents stated, will be a completely custom made "dragon" guitar. The body will have the shape of a dragons head, with the head itself carved and airbrushed on (mix-technique) the body. out of the mouth of the dragon, there will be the neck, which will be a 36 fret (well - 3 octaves to be precise with the last few frets as full-tone steps) including jumbo frets, standard frets, and mandolin frets (the smaller the fret spacing, the smaller the fret). From the 15th or 19th fret onwad (not sure yet) it will be scalloped. the whole thing will be a 7-string whith the low B-string done fretless. there will be a big inlay which will be the tongue of the dragon.
The body will be partly hollow, partly solid for reasons of weight and sound. it will have an active EMG 7-string humbucker and a fix bridge (screw a tremolo).
i forgot about the woods, but i´ll leave that decision to the luther, for every single piece of his guitars is amazing in sound, so i guess he knows what he does.

the guitar is about... 20% done yet. it will take another month or two untill it is done.

to see a few examples of this luthiers guitars, go check http://www.neubauerguitars.com

my guitar will have carvings in the style of this les paul (which was also made by my luthier):

Although I can't speak German, I must say that I like the Les Paul model he had there, very innovative.

Azrael, are you german/austrian? You speak (or at least, type) English like it's your native tongue, very impressive. I took a year of Spanish and a Year of German, and forgot everything in both languages:D!.

I'm curious, Azrael, do you know how long the neck will be? what string guage do you plan on putting on this beast?

i´m from austria :)

the neck will have a standard strat-neck scale.

higher tones are not produced by a longer scale, but by the division of it. half of the scale is an octave - another half of that half are two octaves (24th fret) and another half of the remaining distance between the 24th fret and the bridge is the 3rd octave etc etc.

i plan on putting on either .009 or .010 gauge -not sure yet - i guess the .010 will have a better sound

Oh! I was unaware that it will be standard size. What humbuckers/Single coil pickups will you be using?

36 Fret guitars.....Truly amazing; I'm wondering "How high in pitch does it go?".

WHOA! so if it is standard 251/2 scale but with 36 fret then doesn't that mean that some of the frets (not the actual frets, the space between them) will be really, really small:confused:? im sorry i get very enthralled by this kind of stuff but i also get very confused by it...

yes it does - thats why it uses 3 different kinds of frets - jumbo, normal and small, plus from the 30th fret onward it will be a full-tone scale:

so it is fret 30, 32, 34 and 36 - no frets 31, 33, and 35

else you´ll need fingers like a chinese seamstress
