LOL!!

That luthier's work looks very promising, looks like you will have a mighty fine guitar when finished. That skull guitar is very cool.

ok.. hereĀ“s a rough sketch of what the body of the guitar will look like:

the upper part of the muzzle will be hollow and the nostril will be a tone-hole (is that the corret word for it?)

That will certainly be unique, and very cool.

I like the idea, a lot. I just hope the neck ain't all curvy like the dragons tongue. ;)

Even though you are having a standard neck and scale length, will any of the upper frets be scalloped? Just out of interest, as I don't have very thick fingers myself and whenever I play my friend's 24-fret Ibanez I find it pretty hard to get tone and sustain out of frets 22-24....36 i cant even imagine!

Aah, looks great man, I hope you enjoy it!

I've got something of a custom guitar myself (Although I've done a lot of custom work on all my guitars). I took one of my prized HM Strat necks (its wider than normal strat necks, with a flat fretboard radius, so its much like an alan holdsworth guitar). Stuck it on a custom made semi-hollow strat body made by a friend of mine..and well thats about it. Jumbo frets but all the frets are slightly scalloped out (getting deeper towards the 24th). Its got both the Dimarzio S3 that came standard with HM Strats, and a piezo system I bought off the Carvin custom shop (I practically had to lie, said I had one of their custom guitars). The thing is routed for two outputs (like a carvin), so I can have the acoustic sound or electric whenever I want. In the neck position is a dimarzio paf pro.

Of course it looks like crap because theres no finish on it yet ;( And its all in pieces still.

Wooh.. Azrael! Nice drawing by the way... ! Hope it kicks as much ass as it should.
Samobob, sounds like an interesting set up. I thought about getting a piezo myself but I was told that they only work at the bridge. I'm happy anyway, I've got an EMG 89 splittable active pick up on the bridge and a little switch that turns it on and off. If I select the bridge and middle pick ups flicking the switch makes this nice little stuttering sound which sounds great with distortion and a unison bend. If the bridge is selected alone the switch kills the sound entirely. Tom Morello uses a kill switch I'm told.
If I got a kill switch ever again though I thinkk I'd want it higher up on the guitar so I can get at the whammy bar with one hand and the switch with another..
If I couldn't laugh at myself how could I laugh at someone less ridiculous?
