Chords

I want to be able to play the chords all over the board so that I can play any progression and throw licks on top of them, but everywhere I look they only teach one position of the chords. I have no idea where to go from learning all the basic chords. I want to know what to practice when i pick up the guitar rather than just playing the same exercises. Please some guidance would help

Much this depends on what style you want to play.  The style courses will show you how gradually learn to play rhythm & lead guitar ideas all over the guitar as applies to the context of the style: acoustic, blues, country, rock.
