So here I am at almost the end of my first year of guitar. I would not be where I am right now without GuitarTricks. It has been an amazing journey. Only one problem... I want to be on GuitarTricks longer, but I don't know where to go.  It helped a lot at first, but now I don't know what lessons to watch to fit my needs. I want to do some 90s-2000s punk pop like green day and good charlotte. Any advice would be great 👍.

All of the beginner ones and quite a few of the rock course such as things like power chords and hammer ons and pull offs. Just the basic things in order to do half decent at any punk rock song.

I would go through the Rock 1 course in full. While you’re doing that you can look at some of the songs in the song library to see what areas that you are not up to speed with yet. There are songs by Good Charlotte and Simple Plan there.

Congrats on making it this far!  You should definitely start learning songs & playing along with them.

The GT song library has some tunes by the artists you mention.

You can browse the list of artists here for more possible tunes.

You might also finish the rock course at least looking for all the rhythm guitar ideas to help you with your goals.  And the Rock style page is also a great place to flesh out the concepts from the rock courses.

There's specifically a tutorial that Anders does on punk rock style that might help.

Best of success!

Thank you! I'll be sure to look through all of the rock course to see if there is anything else I need to pick up in order to do better in guitar. As for the songs, there are a few really good ones in there, but frankly, I surprised that you don't have songs like Adam's Song (Blink 182) or I'm Just a Kid ( Simple Plan).

Congratulations on nine months of achievement Jaxon, it's truly remarkable. I get feeling stuck, though. Now that you mastered the basics it might be time to play a difficult song from the library instead. When you break it down you experience a satisfying outcome. Try discovering the missing songs by hearing them with your ears or using tabs because challenge makes the process fun. You are doing great!

Thanks! Luckily, I found Adam's song on a different guitar tutorial. My #1 sing that I want to learn is welcome to the black parade by my chemical romance, (one of my favorites) but that will still be a long way off. It is a crazy hard song.
