Hm.....Her last name is "La Vigne" too, with a space in it; There is a severe lack of LaVigne's, it is highly probable that she is a distant cousin (oh no!!!). :D

Eastern Ontario is pretty much like that all over. My home town produced the Tragically Hip, which neatly summed up the 'Kingston' sound, Napanee (Avril's hometown) is 30 miles west. Ottawa, birthplace of Alanis Morissette, is a two hour drive north. That whole part of the country is populated by musical people with a gritty kind of jazzbluessoulfunkgrind you just don't find anywhere else! There's hundreds more that you've never heard of, and probably never will.
