Hey Mike, just curious if that's it for song lessons or do you anticipate them returning at some point

Hey Rick! I think this is it for songs. I'm holding out hope that at some point in the future we'll start seeing songs come back. But for right now, GT has pivoted to style/technique tutorials and Artist Studies.

Hey Mike, I take it they still haven't decided to start back doing songs again

Hi Jamboss,

We’re focused on creating engaging new content for you, but unfortunately, it won’t include new songs this year. If there’s something specific you’re struggling with or want to learn, we’d love to hear from you. However, we can’t guarantee the return of new songs at this time, as we’ve faced challenges in securing licenses for the songs we know you’re excited about.

The music licensing process has become increasingly difficult, and without those licenses, we simply can’t release new songs. Please know it’s not for lack of effort or understanding of what our community wants. If the situation changes, we’ll do our best to bring more songs to you. In the meantime, we’re dedicating ourselves to creating fresh lesson material and developing new features to enhance your learning experience. We truly appreciate your understanding.

Okay that's fine thanks for the response. I do have a question though, is there a chance of having new videos of different versions of some of the songs we already have? For example the original You Really Got Me by the Kinks. I love the Van Halen cover but I'm never going to be a Eddie Van Halen. It would be nice to learn the original version. Just wondering. Thanks

I will pass your suggestion off to the production team. Thank you for your feedback!

Yes I like the idea of creating new easier version of some more songs.  I have been a member for going on 2 years and I would love to be able to play more songs but many of them are way too hard for me (I'm a slow learner).  I like both the lessons and the songs, but sometimes when I get frustrated learning a new song helps to keep me playing.

UPDATE - I've heard back from admin. This is the response:

"We've entertained the idea of producing different artist versions of a song, but learned alternate recordings of a song require separate additional approval. So in this case, we won't be able to produce the original version by The Kinks but we can keep the Van Halen."

I'm sorry it isn't the response we were all hoping for!

Mike
