We have all noticed, and been annoyed by, BOTs probably using AI making a nonsense response to a thread from years and even decades ago.  Those posts are always dated the same date as the member joined by date, and the first and only post.  Hit and run.

ADMIN:  perhaps you could add a control to the forum that a newly registered member cannot make a post until 24 hours after they join?  That might cut down these annoying and useless posts.  A legitimate human can surely wait 24 hours for their first post.

Its frustrating, they made some changes a short while ago but the forum is still getting hit with spam posts.

Hi Scuba, we now have a requirement that members have to verify their email before they can post. That seems to have helped a lot with the spam, but inevitably they still find a way. Spammers are very persistent and sneaky.

You can always report any spam you see to admin@guitartricks.com. We remove new spam every day and are super grateful to members who are able to help us out with this.

It’s amazing how Guitar Tricks Admin can answer virtually any question that isn’t about the massive song dump without a copy and paste non-answer. Weird.

Now this is classic irony!

An AI bot giving advice on how to curtail bot posts.

It would probably be a better practice to not quote the offending post and thereby repeat the spam link.  Meanwhile...

That post has been reported and will be removed soon.
