Hmmmm....Well, I started reading the first page in which , it was musically interesting as well as somewhat amusing. After halfway throught the second page it was as discouraging as some of your stories. So, I skipped to the last page. ...Somehow we lost track of the original subject and got on to politics and how canadian people say aboot instead of about, when really they dont, and probably most of this is due to some episode of South Park where they have incorrect speaking canadians in almost every episode. I personally am from Illinois, never been to Canada, and have no Idea how they talk, but I will say this...Being in a band is work, like it or not. Preferably it's a type of work that you pursue because it gives you enjoyment. A band is Like a relationship. If you love it, you'll put up with the bad to drink the sweet nectar of the good. If you can't stand it and it is that frustrating find a new woman, they aren't all bitches. (supposedly). I personally have been thru almost every situation that I have read on here so far, however I love music and along the way somewhere I found a great friend and co-writer/guitar player as well as a drummer. Hopefully We will keep adding musicians and discarding the bad ones like eggs at a factory until the right combination is found. Until then I will learn, suffer, and love every minute of it because...I am a musician, It's in my blood, and it's as much a part of me as my dick, which, no matter how many fat women it causes me to engage in sexual relations with,(jking)I wont ever cut it off! Even the fat ugly ones have hot friends. eventually staying the course pays off! don't be discouraged rise above the normal wannabe and lead by example, Like one poster said earlier...."no one said it was gonna be easy". Thank god! or there would be even more idiots in this industry.

The only people I've ever heard saying 'aboot' were slack-jawed Americans who thought they were being funny. As for your president, I can sympathise with people who don't feel that he represents them. I admired Reagan, for his perception and resolve, but I think 'Dubya' has ethical problems only marginally less severe than his embarassing predecessor. I live in a country ruled by a mean-spirited, senile, dictatorial bully who mangles both of our official languages, so I recognise an embarrassing leader when I see one.

Clinton may have had some ethical problems, but he was our best president, in terms of success, in probably 70-80 years, maybe ever. He was the ONLY president to ever create a budget surplus in the US.

Most of the great leaders had ethical problems, Franklin Roosevelt had as many as 10 mistresses, and the great Winston Churchill used to drink a gallon of whiskey every day. So what? If they can run the country and be successful at it, who cares about their personal life.

Well, I live in Canada, and I've never heard it at all, except when we joke about the people who joke about us.
You probably heard it wrong, and I'm not trying to be insulting, I'm just saying we don't say 'aboot'. I'm sure there are lots of other stereotypes that get stuck to Americans that arent true.
Anywhooo, why not start talking about why bands bust again, eh?

I'd just like to say that Redstone is right. And don't fit all Canadians into a stereotype.
If I leave here tomorrow,
Will you still remember me?

I'm not stereotyping canadians. I'm just saying that I HAVE heard a few aboots. It's like saying that I've heard a southerner say "Y'all." But back to why bands bust, I'm sticking with my guns on drummers...Although arrogant lead guitarists can hurt a lot too.

Like I said earlier, while I know a crappy drummer or two, band's downfalls are related to egotistical people, at least in my experience.
Actually, speaking of drummers, I know one that drove every member of this band I was in nuts with his scheaming and stuff, so we all left, and the ones that stayed, well, lets just say they'll all be leaving sooner or later, so, I guess thats another reason bands bust. You can have one guy who wants to run the show, but has no clue how a real band works, so everyone else gets ticked off and leaves.
And God said, 'Let there be rock!'

Oh, it'll work. Just tell them that they'll be going where everyone can see them for as awesome as they really are....then they get burned in our friendly neighborhood sun.

My 82 cents---------->Lack of communication, Individual goals are worlds apart, Schedules, lack of motivation by most or all of the members, but never at the same time, frustration, EVERYBODY is always the ONLY ONE who moves equipment and does EVERYTHING, the rockstar in the band always shows up just in time to play the gig, but never in time to set up and is the first to leave, and last but certainly not least...The lack, or refusal to give, comprimise and understand, that your band-mate is now dealing with some things that you were a month ago, when you couldn't understand why no-one understood....um, here we go with the double talk thing again.

I thought it was kinda ironic that Alliwine was being chewed out by hairbndrckr for wasting space. I mean, hairband's siggy is bigger than most of his posts!

OH JESUS CHRIST...
Now I can't believe people actually took what I said seriously. Hey Lord, since you obviously don't know, I WAS RIBBING HIM. Hell I don't even know how he did that short of laying on the enter key by accident. Lay off the caffiene man, it makes you read things out of context...

so to reiterate...just so everyone understands..

I WAS NOT, I REPEAT, NOT CHEWING ANYONE OUT FOR ANYTHING. IF I WAS, YOU WOULD KNOW IT BELIEVE ME. I WAS JUST KIDDING WITH HIM, I REPEAT, KIDDING WITH HIM. NOW IF ANY HUMANS, DOGS, CATS, RABBITS, REPTILES, MONKEYS, REPUBLICANS, RIGHT WING ACTIVISTS, MODERATORS, NAZI SYMPATHIZERS, OR ANYONE ELSE THAT MIGHT LIVE AND BREATHE ON THIS PLANET, AND MAYBE THOSE THAT DON'T ALSO, MIGHT BE OFFENDED BY ANYTHING THAT I MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE SAID DEPENDING ON WHAT CONTEXT YOU MAY TAKE IT AS, I APOLOGISE.

Besides...I thought the smiley after the comment showed the true emotion behind the lifeless writing...
So. If you throw a cat out of a car window, is it considered "kitty litter"?
