ugh...i went 2 media play one day hoping 2 find Foo Fighter's new dvd/ep 'Low' and only found 50 cent...that reatard rapper...just out of curiousity...how many of u guys hate rap as much as i do?

Rap, Pop, Hip-hop are the worst forms of music.
They give music a bad name.

I think rap is the most laborious, repetitive, moronic form of music available!

The fastest way to get me to turn green, bulk up immensely, and start trashing things, is to pull up beside me at a stop light with cRAP bass booming so loud that I can't even hear my bike motor!

To me, Rap and Hip-hop are the same old cRAP that retards blast through there brainless head... Pop is just the same...To me Rap and Pop should not be considered 'music'...more lyke poser posse's or sumthin...real music is sumthin u can bang ur head 2 and really say 'wow! thats great!'...but rap and pop take that joy away from us...

I like some rap, I like words, poetry etc. and alot of rap is lyrically superior to what youll find in rock circles. People like Eminem who, although he is subject to alot of controversy, I think will be remembered in years to come as a great american poet, along with people like Chuck Berry and Bob Dylan. Yeah, theres alot of crap there, mainly stuff about "bitchez" and money(what my brother listens to) but his collection has opened my ears to alot of different music.. Dr. Dre, Eazy-E, Eminem, Ice Cube, Busta Rhymes, NWA... and I think alot of people on this board could do with opening their own ears(not directing this at anyone in paticular), theres lessons in hip hop music that can be applied to rock music very well, it doesnt have to tun out like Limp Bizkit. I find rap beats go well with power pop structured songs.

I kinda like it when Eminem gets away with the stuff he says, I personally dislike critics, so when an artist ticks them off, I like it. But there is probably two rap songs I could listen to. I dont really care what they say, what turns me off is the annoying beats and cheasy keyboard samples they call melodies.
But, I guess with like other forms of music, there are good ones and mad ones.
Come to think of it I saw Kid Rock do a song with Run DMC, which wasn't very rappy except for the lyrics, there were no beats or anything, except the drums, and the guitars were nice and chunky, like they should be, not some stupid Limp Bizket type riffs, and I kinda liked it.

That seems just as run of the mill in a metal song as talking about your bling bling and your Bently in a rap song. ;)

Man, this thread his hilarious, seriously. If you want to be bashing complete styles of music like pop and hip hop, at least have some knowledge on the matter.(watching MTV or listening to popular radio does not equal knowledge)
I'm not an expert on hip hop nor pop music, but at least I know enough about it to realize that I'd make a fool of myself if I claimed both pop and hip hop as an entity were total crap.

Whoever said that "real music is music you can bang your head to" had me laughing harder than I was already, thank you for that. :)

im sorry but i just dont like plain rap... i like Linkin Park and Body Count and other stuff like that ....but no tplain rap...and it really annoys me how ppl just cant get wut im tryin2 say and ignore all the @#$!in details... i mean seriously, i proved my point, didnt i? Truth! Thanks for giving me a chance to read that. I try to be open to new musical experiences, but I have a real problem getting past the 'music' to get at the lyrics.

I used to classify the whole genre as "drum machines & bad poetry". So you've proven that there's good poetry out there... I'm just not sufficiently motivated to wade into the scene that goes with it.
