What do you guys think about the band made up of former G'N'R members and the singer from Stone Temple Pilots singer?

I'd just like your opinions.

Ive been reading about them for about a years now! Not too sure about the singer Scott Weiland though. The music is great though. They hope to have an album out this year!

I'm not sure bout Scott either, but I'm sure it will be great as Slash has gone through a lot of singers before deciding on Scott. Theres an interview on the Rolling Stone website with Slash n Scott. Scotts in court on drug offenses in July and recording will start in Sep/Oct, with the album out early next year.

Yeah Im sure Ive heard slash saying in the past scott wasnt suitable, thats why I was shocked when he was named and that apparently he was always gona get the part.
The singer in the band Stiltskin who had a hit called "inside"!!! He sounds awesome. What ever happened to that band?

Yeah, Ive heard Set Me Free and its a good rock tune, a good sign of things to come. I reckon they can only improve as they become more familair with each other, I hear the have like 50 songs with Izzy contributing to 10.

In my opinion they are like the only band that I can see that are capable of doing a raw kick ass rock album. I love Appetite for its simple guitar bass n drum approach! None o yer massive 64 track nonsense with tons of over dubs!
The trouble with slashs snakepit was they never got to a large amount of people. They did no promotion. But with the "ex guns" thing the new band have goin on theyl reach a lot of people. This album could be the Appetite of the 80s or the nevermind of the 90s!

I think Weiland is good, but his drug issues are gonna kill it before he even gets going....

Drugs are bad...umkay?
So. If you throw a cat out of a car window, is it considered "kitty litter"?

IM STOKED ABOUT THIS BAND!!!

I too was a bit unsure about Weiland but hearing set me free i thought he sounds awsome and will fit right in. Im really looking forward to hearing the music as i loved both GNR and Snakepit.

Being a HUGE slash fan i am annoyed that Axl Rose's new band is called Guns N Roses as to me that would be like Dave Grohl calling the Foo Fighters Nirvana! Still an awsome band but they are not Nirvana they are different and making it big as the Foo Fighters. Axl i think may not be confident enough to release a new album without the name Guns N Roses to instantly sell a million copies and get the promotion on reputation.

Im really looking forward to Chinese Democracy as i think it can be a great band, very different to Velvet Revolver but still a good album if it ever gets released. Im just gonna hate putting it in my collection under the Guns N Roses section cause to me Axl, Slash, Duff and Izzy are crucial to the band being 'Guns N Roses' and are what gave them that raw edge they had over every other band.

Anyway thats enough of my rant, i just cant wait now for some new music!

I think with two halfs or the old guns, GnR and Velvet Revolver, a possible reunion is closer! Imagine they both release records n tour for a year. They are gona be in the press talking about each other. Hell they mite even be in the same building during award shows. Its not beyond the realms of possiblity that Axl n Slash start talking again. They are all now sober and clean. They are adults now! Slash was like 27 when guns split! Axl is now 40! So who knows..

Axl_Rose mentioned Stiltskin earlier in the thread. I too liked this band but they only did the one album. N the singer also sang on Genesis's last album, but not been heard of since.

The ablum was called Minds Eye, I think. The stuff on it was similar to Inside, n theres a few slower more atmospheric songs. It sounds a bit grungy on a whole I think.
