Hey everyone. Your feedback has been so valuable the past couple of times that I thought I would ask again. Now I'm in the market for a good acoustic guitar. I've been looking and playing and I think I've decided on a seagull acoustic. I was wondering if anyone had any experiences with them and if they had any other guitars that they would recommend. I wanted totally acoustic and a nice warm tone from it.. any help would be appreciated!!

thanks again

Anyone I talk to says thier great. My friend just bought one. It sounds nice, but I am still going for the Epiphone Hummingbird.

Well, I got antsy and went to the store and bought the Tamakine GS330S. Have to say that I absolutely LOVE it. Sounds great. Plays awesome and was $100 less than the seagull that I was looking at. According to the dude in the shop, when people want the seagulls but don't wanna cough up the cash, the takamine is the perfect substitute for them... This was $250 (add $9 for a strap)
The seagull I was looking at was closer to $400 so I figured for the $250 and another $75 for an awesome gigbag/hardshell case that it was worth the money. Spent 4 hours on that thing last night and I'm typing this in with one hand =)

thanks for the replys as always...
btw.. here's the link to the G330S.. (there is no pic for the GS series)
but I got the darker cedar color...

I recently purchased a Seagull Artist Grand (parlor/rosewood) and it is one sweet little guitar! I have several Taylors, a couple of Gibsons, Guild, larrivée, Cort, A&L. I find myself picking up that little Seagull more times than not.

hhhmmm.... starting to wonder if I should have saved the extra few bucks for the seagull....

it's ok. the music store has an exchange policy so I can just "upgrade" =) may be worth it from the feedback I've gotten from here and a few other friends that said the same. We'll see.. still lovin the takamine and from what I understand, it was a decent price. I'll keep ya posted on my next dumbass move!

thanks

Spanky,

Don't fret (pun intended) over it. If you like the Tak and in plays good and sounds good then that's good. It sounds like a keeper to me.

I'm finding (in my old age) that every guitar has it's own personality, sound and function. The way I look at it, you can't have too many guitars. My little Seagull is a great fingerpicking guitar but not good as a strummer nor flatpicker. I have a bunch of acoustics, they all have their own unique sounds as well as their weaknesses and advantages.

Enjoy your Takamine!
