Okay, I have a question. What are the intervals that make up the four part harmonies you hear in a lot of barbershop quartet songs?
If anyone can help, I'd be super greatfull. Thanx.

They intervals are dependant upon the chord you are after if you were after a dominant 7th you could have some one sing the root note and some one else sing the 3er, some one else sing the 5th and some one else sing a flattened 7th. Apparently these intervals don’t have to be parallel i.e. you could have someone singing the octave above the root instead of the 3rd

So You could just use any intervals, as long as they correspond with a chord? Cool.

its basically just chords structures where each note is played by an individual instrument - like in counterpointed music - plus you are a lil more independant whe nyou play a "chord" that way - you can even throw in notes that would sound horrible if played on one instrument - if arranged well it can create alot of tension
