Hi guys and gals, i just bought a cheap ibanez i came across in a pawn shop but dont know what series it is. The serial # is F024780. I f anyone can look it up or let me know where i can look it up i would appreciate it.
If you go to check yourself heres a little info on it. Its a 24 fret neck, the body is black, it has 2 single coil pickups and one humbucker in the bridge possition. Both singles have S1 on them, and a 5 way selector switch, and a floyd rose trem. It doesnt have that bubbly EX series body look, it has the sharp RG series look, and on the back, where the neck and body meet, it kinda has a cutaway kinda thing goin on. Thanks again.

It might be a discontinued model then ... Try searching some online stores for Ibanez guitars like http://www.musiciansfriend.com , you may have some luck there.

It's a 1990-model Ibanez RG 560 if it doesn't have a pickguard. They go like this: RG550- hum-single-hum with pickguard, RG560- single-single-hum w/o pg and RG570- H/S/H w/o pg.

Check this out: http://www.jemsite.com/dl/ibzcat/rg_90_5xx.jpg
and this: http://www.jemsite.com/dl/ibzcat/rg_90_7xx.jpg

They're both from the '90 catalog.

Your right, it has no pick guard so maybe it is a 560. I'm lookin at jemsite now, awesome link by the way, I've a;ways played Ibanez and always will! Thanks

Ive been playin about 15 yrs now, the first year or 2 i spent going from guitar to guitar. Then i cam upon my first ibanez an RG350, loved it and been a faithfull Ibanez player since. No guitar ive found can match the versatility and tone that you can get out of a good Ibanez. One question though, this 560 or whatever it is has a single coil pickup in the neck possition. Im lookin for a pickup to replace it, i want a single coil that has a double rail with the humbucker tone, something with alot of drive and punch, any suggestions?

Only one way to go with the pickup: SD Hot Rails... I think they're just what you need. BTW I've played somewhat as many years as you and played with Ibanezes all the time. My first was a crappy EX which was good starter. After that I bought a 540R Pro pre-Satriani model which was amazing guitar.. I'll always regret selling it. I've been out of Ibanezes nearly 5 years and been playing Hamer USA guitars which are amazing too. Just earlier this year I bought the
RG770 when I felt a need to start the shredding again. That's about it...
Thanks
