Get a chick's hair thing (a scrunchie?) that matches the color of your guitar. Stretch it over your guitar's headstock and leave it right above the nut. Whenever you want to go into tapping, just slide it past the nut over the first fret. When you're done, put it back behind the nut and resume playing as normal. MAKE SURE THAT IT MATCHES YOUR GUITAR (i.e. - don't get pink unless you're secure)
