Not a Pro, Just like guitar
Gibson SG
Hey any info on these guitars would be great, they look absolutely kick ass to me and I would like to hear some guitarists feedback about them, m thinking about investing but have never played one, from anything to feel and touch to sound, anything really, thanks

I had a '62 SG for a while, back in the early '70s. I didn't like it, because the neck pickup was set so close to the neck joint that it made the guitar very weak at that point. It flexed so much that it was hard to tune! Anyway, that's just my opinion, based on one example. Take a look at the reviews on Harmony Central. Click Here

I have a '74 SG and it's my primary guitar, rarely do I play with the others.
Like Lord said it does detune easely. Especially when you bend a lot. I don't so it's not a prob for me.
I never found a better neck than the SG. Very narrow, makes for easy play. I don't have the original pickup on it tho but I really like the sound. Very rich.
One word about pickup and the SG, If you intend to change the pickup be very picky.. I got a pickup that came with a metal casing very thick. Because of that, I can't get the pickup as low as I would like due to the fact that the SG body isn't thick.
The neck is VERY fragile, mine had been broken in the past as about 80% of the SG I know :) If you're like me and don't have long fingers, SG is a good bet, narrow neck makes it easier to play.
I always recommend it, but now with the epiphones been good alround guitar I would suggest that you go into a music store and try both of them first. I must say I've played with epiphone that sounded as good as mine does for a fraction of the price.

I find SG's are like Strats, no 2 are alike. I've played some that play/sound like a dream.
There pretty versatile, can be used for a multitude of styles, and they look really evil.
