I've been playing almost only Iron Maiden songs until now. I want to start on Van Halen. I've checked him out a little bit myself already, but which songs of him could be allright to learn as a beginning? Any ideas?

Ain't Talkin' Bout' Love is super easy.

I've got the song actually. I've got the tab for it as well. I'll check it out today.

"Hot for Teacher" is killer ... Skip into the rhythm if the intro's tapping is hard for you.
Panama is cool too.

No doubt that Ain´t Talkin... is cool and easy. Try Running With The Devil too. Teacher is amazing song and the final Van Halen exam would be off course Eruption. Jump is a classic.

Speaking of Jump, the keyboard part is pretty neat, you could learn that on the guitar. Its not hard at all, except for the solo.
And God said, 'Let there be rock!'

I always favored the intro to mean streets.

So. If you throw a cat out of a car window, is it considered "kitty litter"?

Allright, thanks for the answers everyone. I've got many of the songs mentioned here.

So Hot For Teacher has a tapping-intro? That's interesting. Actually I'm handling the tapping quite well. Of course I don't tap with the speed of light on first entry, but it get's better as I practice. I can play the Adrian Smith's solo on Children Of The Damned (Iron Maiden) excep for the bends between the tapping sections, I can't figure them out.

Allright, however, I have a lot of Van Halen stuff to dive into now. Thanks folks.

"Hot for teacher" tapping intor involves some streching (fretting hand) which makes it difficult to mute and controle ... Takes some practice to get it perfectly.
