Good Single Coils
What are some real high quality single coil pickups. I am looking for a good blues pickup. Light distortion or clean, almost always using lots of reverb. Any pickups that cross anyones mind, please mention.

Your best bet would probably be the Seymour Duncan JB Jr, it's pretty versatile and good quality. also check out the duncan hotrails pickup. http://www.seymourduncan.com
To improve technique and of course trying to keep all as clean as possible. I know my own limits and speed limits and so on I never play anything I'm not capable of. That wouldn't make any sense. After three years of playing I tried to play everything as fast as possible and that sounded, I would say, like shit, and I didn't realize that if I'd play bit slower things than I was capable of playing then everything would sound much better.

I got fender texas specials...i like em, the kind that SRV endorses...not uses becuase he had overwound pickups that were a mistake, but thier are modeled after them.
WWSD? What would stevie do?

All these pickups are humbuckers. At least the ones I found. Even the "hotrails"

The coolrails I have (2 years now) fit into a single coil space and sound like, wait for it, hot..... single coils ! As they do fit into a single coil space and as DS categories them as single coils (i.e. strat replacement), I thought I'd be super kind and tell you about them.
NB Cool rails !

Is the hotrails pickup a humbucker that fits into a single coil space?

That is more or less it !
I really like the cool rail Im using (in the bridge pos on a USA made Jap strat). The CR sounds like a single coil rather than a humbucker and suits me well ! Id certainly have a look at 'em !

Actually, fender texas special pickups are single coils, and there great for blues, rock and country plus they come in a tele version.

I think Texas specials are single coil, but they are reverse wound...not sure what that does to the sound. If you want to go Fender you can stick with Vintage Noiseless...very single coil sounding (fits single coil) yet once again...technically a humbucker...anything that is silent or "bucks the hum" is double wound...or a humbucker. Good luck.
