I think Texas specials are single coil, but they are reverse wound...not sure what that does to the sound. If you want to go Fender you can stick with Vintage Noiseless...very single coil sounding (fits single coil) yet once again...technically a humbucker...anything that is silent or "bucks the hum" is double wound...or a humbucker.
