Hi, I'd like to learn to play standard notation but I cannot find out how anywhere on the internet. I understand like the staff and all those note names A-G but I don't understand how to relate that back to the fretboard and guitar. Are there any good clear videos out there? Maybe a website? I'd just like to know how to play a sheet of music without using TABS.
How do you read and play standard notation?

Reading and playing standard notation understanding the symbols and markings on the musical staff and translating them into musical sounds. Familiarize yourself with the staff, five horizontal lines and four spaces that represent different pitches. The bottom line is E, and the top line is F.

To read and play standard notation, you need to understand the basics of the five lines and four spaces on a staff. The notes are represented by oval shapes that are placed on the lines or spaces, with the position of the note indicating the pitch. You also need to learn the note names such as A, B, C, D, E, F, or G. Each note has a specific duration represented by a symbol, such as a quarter note, half note, or whole note. To play the notes, you need to learn the fingerings for your instrument and practice reading the notes on the staff while playing them. It is important to practice regularly to improve your skills and become comfortable reading and playing standard notation.
