RE: Warmup

Good evening everyone - I just started this course on the beginner level on Saturday.  I've gone through several lessons and enjoying what I am learning.  My question is, what would be the best scale to learn that would help me choose the right string and fret as I start learning how to play the guitar?  Something I could play for 5 minutes before I start a lesson on the website. I just want to be able to play the right notes as I try and play the songs that are given in the basic training module.

They will come

first you get the spider legs warm up which gets you using the correct fingers the notes along a string

Also used to increase your finger stretch/span

The major and minor scales in the open positions follow on quite quickly

The A minor or C Major pentatonic is usually the scale given by many as a first scale to learn. They are one and the same

You will find scales in the toolbox on the main page and find how easy it is to be overwhelmed by scales ,positions, shapes etc

Just following along in Fund 1 & 2 at the pace the lessons set allows you to learn without being overwhelmed like that

You will often hear Go Slow to Learn Faster

Good Luck ,  starting off is always the first obstacle
