Need Suggestions.

Im going to be saving up cash here soon, about 630 bucks a month. i want to get equipment.



Need Suggestions On:
Guitars
A Good Half Stack
Pedals.

pretty much anything that would help. Im intrested in playing rock/metal(the most, i like all kinds of music.)

Guitars: Gibson or Fender depending on what type of sound you want
Amps: Marshal without question
Pedals: Boss Multi-Effects pedal.
And buy used equipment. You get twice the value as long as it isn't road abused.

the amp should definitely be a Marshall!! no doubt about it.
the guitar could be almost anything depending on your preferences. i suggest getting a few useful pedals or maybe one (maybe even two) multi-fx pedals.

If you wanna play Metal Lead guitar ,you may like your guitar to have a Floyd Rose tremolo and 24 frets... Check out Jackson, ESP , Washburn or Ibanez .

Amp : Depend on the model your buying .

Effects : Boss or Digitech ... Personaly I'd say Boss.

Thanks for your suggestions, i have a Esp Ltd F-200 right now, i need to have it worked on though, it came with messed up Floyd rose and the action is horrible at the moment, Ill be getting a nice backup eventully. hmm, any good suggestions for good metal pickups?

If your FR bridge is at a slant, then remove the back cover on your guitar body , lock the screws more till the bridge is in place ... If you're outa room in your screws, add another spring.

For a metal pickup , you can't go wrong with EMG's , specialy EMG 81 ... Duncan or Dimarzio would be your choice for a passive pickup.

If you have money spend the extra dollars it takes to get quality brand name stuff,ie. fender...american made only forget japenese fenders. Digitech pedals sound okay but they are made out of cheap die caste alloys, the same crap used to make dinky cars. Boss pedals or nothing. Forget ibenez pedals they will let you down.

guitars: check out Carvin, Jackson, Ibanez, Fender, Gibson, Squier, Epiphone, Schecter, ESP/LTD,... If you end up buying one with a floating bridge, make sure you get either an Original Floyd Rose, an Ibanez Edge or Shaller tremelo. Most Licensed Floyd bridges aren't worth the hassle.

half stack: check out Laney, Carvin, Peavey, Marshall, Engl, Mesa Boogie,... Look for an amp that has a distortion on board that you like, so you won't have to rely on pedals for that.

I'd be interested to know what Schechter guitars are like, they make 7 strings you see. Nobody's heard of them so people don't buy them to be trendy, should save you some money. I'm sure big makers like Fender, Ibanez, Gibson etc like to make their cheaper guitars less well than they could to boost the market for their flagship models. That said I like my Ibanez RG 550 but the fretboard's a bit uncomfortable (why do they make those frets so wide?).
As for Amps mine's a Gallien Krueger ML250, it sounds like God might play/make them, just goes to show a famous name isn't everything. Sadly I've had problems with it but I bought it second hand and the owner may have fed it beer or something.
