Mike:

Outstanding work on "Working Man"! Sometimes I think it takes a different talent, perhaps a greater talent to translate someone elses music and playing into a lesson and commit it all to memory with such accuracy, precision and easy of playing. Very nice. Have you considered bringing us some Triumph? Or April WIne? Two more great Canadian bands. Please !

I just, and when I say "just" I mean acouple of hours ago, watched the VH-1 documentary on Neal Young. Fascinating!

And still no Neal Young song lessons. We've got a Norman Greenbaum lesson but no Neal Young lessons?!?!?!?

First off - 79Raider thanks so much for the kind words!! April Wine and Triumph would be amazing!!

And of course we'd love to have Neil Young here on the site. Unfortunately, there is an extensive approval process with the publishing companies that takes place before we are allowed to teach songs. Please rest assured GT is working hard to get as many cool songs as possible up here on the site.

In the meantime, please check out the "Song Lesson Request" Forum to read more about the process and leave your awesome suggestions there!!

Cheers!

Mike

Yea the old Rush stuff like Finding My Way, In the Mood off their debut album & Fly By Night just straight up guitar bass drums rock/metal stuff that I first learned (tried to learn) on guitar back in the day, would be great. Also liked the Tom Cochrane/Red Rider song some more of him would be great as would be some Max Webster/Kim Mitchell & Tragically Hip hope some of that is in the works, New Orleans is Sinking, Little Bones, Locked in the Trunk of a Car going to request some. Cheers

Hi Mike, I'm new to the site and have been thoroughy enjoying the 'Working Man' lesson; truly awesome! Quick couple of questions, what model Ibanez are you using in the video (is it an AS200?) and are you using any effects pedals to get the distortion or is all high gain setting on the amp?

Thanks!

Hello and welcome to GuitarTricks!! Thanks for the kind words!

The guitar is an Ibanez ASV73 model. I used a treble booster to boost the signal into the Marshall and get more gain.

Cheers!

Hey Mike if you were playing this song on a strat, where would you set the pickup selector for the verse/chorus and solos?

Thanks!

For a strat, I would use position 1 (bridge pickup) for all of the song except the first solo where I would switch to the neck pickup (position 5).

Make sense?[br]Mike

Thanks Mike. I thought it would've been the opposite for some reason (i.e neck for verse/chorus and bridge for solos).
