Soloing Over Chord Changes
Hey Mike!
Check out this collection of tutorials covers the basics of improvisation including how to play over chord changes:

Anders has a great tutorial in the Rock Level 2 Course on this topic:

It always helps to learn solos you like by players you like in order to build a repertoire of licks to use when you improvise. Make sure your theory is sound, and that you know which notes make up each chord you are improvising over.
I would suggest some simple exercises to practice this slowly at first. Perhaps start with a blues progression (I IV V), and target the root notes of each chord change with your phrases at first. Then branch out and practice hitting the 3rd of each chord. Of course, then practice the 5th and 7th of each chord as well.
Hope this helps, let me know how it goes!
