oh , sorry, misunderstood.

Yes , it's hard to hear the metronome on the play along video's.

Free apps for a metronome on your phone but then you can't watch the video's.

Listen to the video, transcribe the tabs where possible ( a useful exercise in itself )and practice your piece.

Alternate between practicing with a metronome from your tabs and playing alongside

Always more to buy or add.

Keep going. We can find work rounds for most things.

How do you feel your doing after another week at it.

No I don't use headphones... maybe I should try it. I to practice every day I try for an hour but some time I can only get 20-30 minutes in.

Realize you are following the primary directive ... KEEP ON PRACTICING, RINSE AND REPEAT. All things guitar come at the cost of continual practice. Patient, persistant, practice, over years....This is not a sprint. You will have varrious learning tasks along the way, and some will drive you nuts. NO MATTER... JUST REMEMBER THE PRIME DIRECTIVE AND PICK UP YOUR AX AS MUCH AS YOU CAN AND KEEP AT IT!

JeffS56 advice was spot on. Im in my 9th month and struggle with G an C chord transitions. I thought barr chords were going to be imposible and then one day 1 little change in my position on the frett board made it happen like magic! This guitar thing is not easy. Practice and patience I have a nephew who went to Berkley school of music and the best advice he has given me so far is if you cant play it slow you will never play it fast so don't expect to be able to do anything fast (or well for that matter) just yet. Think about it every guitar player in the world started this way yes even David Gilmoure and Jimmi Page Good luck and hang in there.

I'm getting better. I can keep up with the video fingers still get clumsy at some of the changes, but I'm replaying the video and its helping.

Awesome!

Glad you're seeing the progress and less worried about perfection. But, you'll get there. Those clumsy changes eventually become second nature in due time.

Keep it going!

Hopefully, this helps I had no problem with the open chords because I took guitar a long time ago . However,, If I try something harder like Love me tender it takes longer to learn because I dont know the chords and I want all the notes to ring out . Everyone has a point where they have to work to learn certain songs Keep with it , We all go through this

Great news! As others have said, slowing it down and using the metronome. To put this journey into perspective: I've been playing for over two years but played viola for many years. Despite understanding music and having played a steel-string instrument, it took about three mos ago to get a clean sound on an "F" chord. We all get certain chords/theories/rhythm, etc. at our own pace, even when it is not the pace we wish. However, with practice, we do get there.

Welcome, and I am glad you joined our crew of students.
