Great news! As others have said, slowing it down and using the metronome. To put this journey into perspective: I've been playing for over two years but played viola for many years. Despite understanding music and having played a steel-string instrument, it took about three mos ago to get a clean sound on an "F" chord. We all get certain chords/theories/rhythm, etc. at our own pace, even when it is not the pace we wish. However, with practice, we do get there.
