don't forget that lyrics are what people remember (easier, at least), not your guitar solo.

That's weird. When I was younger I always assumed that the lyrics to a tune were secondary to the music. I spent so many years purposely trying ignoring vocals so I could learn the guitar that now I don't even hear the vocalist anymore.

I wonder how many people pay really close attention to lyrics and judge how good a song is based on just that fact...as opposed to those of us who pay more attention to the music and think of the lyrics just as an added bonus if they're well written and actually make sense.
