In the guitar fundamentals 1- chapter 1 - How does the guitar work - Acoustic guitar parts and functions,

1. 4:29, She mentioned air volume, then proceed to describe it as the thickness of the body? Not really sure what was she saying.

2. and also at 4:35, 'And also how big these areas are, it's essentially a wooden box and is made of very thin wood, if you look at your guitar top it is very thin'. I really don't understand anything here. Areas? Wooden box? I hope someone can shed some light on this.

TIA!

Hi there,

1. Lisa my be referring to the body and resonance of an acoustic guitar here. The bigger the body of the acoustic guitar, the more sound it can produce. This refers to different types of acoustic body types/sizes. I wouldn't get hung up on this!

2. Same thing as the first answer here. Sounds like Lisa is simply talking about the anatomy of a guitar and explaining.
