I'm playing guitar for around 4 months. I know how to play all the basic chords, play some power chords and bar chords, strumming and fingerpicking in different timescale.

But all I can do is play repetitive patterns. I mean i feel like learning new things, but again end up playing another repetitive patter.

I heard solo guitars, it's like a song in itself. How do I do that ? I've no idea where to go next !

Assess you skills & knowledge, figure out what you can't do yet that you want to do. Make a list of songs to learn. Start working through it!

Do you mean playing guitar solos? Or playing solo unaccompanied guitar?

For lead guitar (i.e. soloing) you should work through the rock courses.

And you can also work through this collection of tutorials on improvisation focused on lead guitar skills & ideas.

And one of the best ways to learn it is to learn solos that you like.

For solo unaccompanied guitar you should start by working through the acoustic course. It has a lot of the skills you need to play chords, bass lines & melodies all at the same time.

Hope that helps! Please ask more if necessary & best of success!

Hi Christopher, thanks for the reply. That really helped.

I want to play guitar without any other instrument or singing, I think that is solo unaccompanied guitar if I'm not wrong.

I saw videos with people playing fingerstyle guitar which sounds like a complete music in itself. That's what I want to do.
