has anyone successfully learnt to play with both left and right hands? The reason I ask is because l am naturally right handed but ,due to a prang my right wrist is limited in movement so I have tried to learn left handed. Just finished fundamentals 1 and treated myself to a Yamaha gl1 as a little practice guitar which I intended to change to left hand and change to guitar E tuning, the fact my right hand fingers sit at an angle doesn't seem to affect the smaller neck as much now find I can get all the chords ok,stuck in a quandary with this. Can you be a lefty and a righty,if you can the Christmas list just got a whole lot longer!
Ambidextrous players
Well, there's always Michael Angelo Batio, who is a freak of nature:

A lot of drummers also practice doing this sort of thing, switching hands and feet. Although this doesn't necessarily change much about the actual sounds or end results.
And of course, there's every pianist who is pretty much expected to play the same with both hands.
If you're able to do it, to accomodate your injury, that's great! I think I know a guy who plays right-handed guitars left-handed, and he's also a highly-skilled drummer.
Hard enough for most of us to just play a single way! :)

Decided tonight to keep the Yamaha gl1righty it's a funny little thing ,it is growing on me despite its appearance of a deformed Ukelele I will change the guitarlele tuning to e .fiinding that for practice I can switch from left to right guitar when the fingers go numb thus extending practice .Only issue being strumming classical guitar with short nails !
