Hello GT communuity,

I'm after a bit of guidance.

I have just started playing around incorporating the pentatonic scale into my strumming, i'm going for a folky sound, so that I can take my playing onto the next level.

Strumming is great fun but I'd like to add more interest and musicality.

Here is what I am doing at the moment

- Practising chaging between all the chords in key

- Practising adding an extra bass note to the strumming

- Practising adding notes from the pentatonic scale into my rhythme playing.

So i'd like to find all the tutorials that can aide me to deepen my knowledge and also a few songs that will keep me interested and help me understand how to use all of these techniques. At the moment i'm having a lot of fun but don't really understand or know what i'm doing, guess you could call it noodling :-/

I hope i've explained myself well enough, if not please get in touch and I will try my best to clarify further.

Thanks in advance,

K

And this one covers minor key.

Lisa also has a lot of material on which chords belong to which key signatures in her GF course! Look in Chapter 6.

P.S Do you know if GT has any plans to introduce some lessons geared towards the folk rock genre??

I don't that "folk" is a specified genre on GT. But you can find those kind of songs if you serach for "acoustic songs".

And you can probably find a lot of lessons on those techniques in the Acoustic courses!

Hope that helps!
