getting there slowly

single notes are all around the fret

3 string chords follow the natural notes

but other chords like 6 string will have differing finger positions

not there yet.

but if every note or chords of varying shapes all have C as their root would a tuner display them all as C

ditto for Fs ,Gs etc

If I am reading your question right you are asking if I make a C Major chord and strum it, will my tuner show it as a C?

Mine doesn't. Just kind of confuses it. But if I pick the C note within the chord, yes, it shows as a C.

This year the diet is definitely gonna stick!

yes, exactly that

Suppose I should have just tried it.

C as a note

Simple C chord.

Was thinking the different shapes had to be made when using more strings to sound a C when doing it.
