Hey, I'm a newbie and I'm wondering if I should be practicing with a metronome?
dlashme
Hi dlashme and welcome to you.
Yes indeed. I use one all the time to practice. It keeps you consistant and helps develope a sense of timing. It is a very important tool. There is a metronome available in the 'TOOLS' section with various settings.
Another way of keeping time is to tap your foot. You can use that one even if you are performing.
Regards
Joe
^^^ What @Joe105 said. I can't add to his logic. We all love to hate the metronome. But it is a neccessary evil to develop timing. You can, as Joe also pointed out, use the one in the "Tools" section. But if you are not logged in to GT there still is no excuse to not use one

I use a freebie Android app called MetroDrum. It is a lot more entertaining to play along to a drum beat rather than "click-click-click".

the guy that program this iOS app is a drummer
