Always wanted to play guitar and finally did it in 1992. Doug Marks was selling his complete lesson series for metal guitar, Metal Methods, so I finally jumped in. Learned to play and was doing over 10 metal songs. Stopped playing over 20 years ago but getting back into it and it's like starting from the beginning.[br] [br]Still have those video tapes of lessons I paid for back in '92 so started using them again, after all they're paid for and worked back then. I notice he's updated them and shows better techniques. He now offers 1-4 beginners for free.[br] [br]Checked out the free 14 day trial for Guitar Tricks and the basic only leads to tuning the guitar and past that it flagged saying need to pay. So I really didn't see how the beginners lessons are any better than either my '92 stuff or his current free ones.[br] [br]Wrote to Guitar tricks and their response was 'here's how to sign up for the free trial.' They didn't bother to read my note.[br] [br]I'm an older guy now and don't want to waste weeks of practicing when I can get something that works better and faster than my '92 stuff.[br] [br]How will paying for Guitar Tricks beginners lessons be any better than what I already have or have access to?[br] [br]Thanks

Hi SecondTimeGuy,

Just like you, I took a long break from playing guitar as well, not as long as 20 years but a few years. I started playing when I was 17 or 18 years old (I'm 28 now, and I have a ton of things to learn, guitar and otherwise). But I remember constantly playing those first few years, and then college happened and I stopped for about 4 years.

But considering my job is here at Guitartricks, I've heard countless stories of people picking up the instrument after many, many years without touching it. I bet you can still achieve your guitar goals even after all this time as well.

It's really great that you still have those Doug Marks lessons, and you're still able to get some use out of them, too!

About the 14 day free trial. I believe you may have mixed something up. Our 14 day free trial gives you Full Access to the website, so you should have gotten access to everything for 14 days. Another note, I see that you only signed up for a "basic" membership, which is not the 14 day free trial.

The basic membership gives you access to the very first tutorial of each course. It's like a sneak peak.

Remember, if you want to sign up for a trial you must go to this link: www.guitartricks.com/trial

We're pretty serious about helping aspiring guitar players achieve their goals, so I want to apologize for the poor customer support experience.

If you have any questions, please let us know!

Best,

Billy

I checked out your link and that's not what I signed up. It wants your credit card for the trial.
