Thanks for "Spirit in the Sky". One of the best Fuzz Tone hits of all time. Been learning this off and on from a tab for some time. I didn't realize the complexity of the mix until you posted this.
Thanks, and may the Fuzz be with you!

William MG, had an '81 Honda Sabre 750 with half faring. Sweet ride for my daily 70 mile commute. Have a '62 Gibson Melody Maker I feel the same way about...
Working on Highway to Hell solo now. Can't wait to see the other three AC/DC songs Mike promised in a related post.

Hey Dan, I remember the Sabres well. Honda had just introduced that engine on the Interceptor back in the early '80s replacing the inline 4. Good little bike! The Sabre was more my style, never really got into the Magna styling or any custom for that matter. Prefer a more conventional riding posture or even full blown sport. I remember the fairings and the bag package as well. It made a nice sport/touring platform. I like all bikes and have had and do have many, but always keep a warm spot for Honda.
Yes, I would look forward to more of my fav band. Not on solo yet but I seem to doing ok on getting the opening verse and chorus down. Hope to move to the solo sometime next week.

Best of luck with the solo. I seem to be more of a rhythm player at the moment. Found that I pick up and play the chords alot better than the solo parts. Also pretty eclectic in my musical tastes and practice regimen. Currently working on Behind Blue Eyes, Mary Had a Little Lamb, Born to be Wild, Highway to Hell, Proud Mary, Mississippi Queen, Hey Joe, and More than Words from Guitar Tricks, and a couple Tab Songs unavailable here (started Spirit in the Sky and Highway to Hell this way). All on my Bucket List.
Rode my Sabre until cowling parts started flying off on the 91 Freeway. Replaced it with a Concours in 2004...
I can relate to the tunes. Seems we share the taste in music. The Kawi was a great bike. Always wanted one since they came out in '86 but ended up with an ST13 which is my daily ride.

Sweet ride, but out of my price range at the time. Bad back has kept me off the bike for quite a while. Got hooked on the heated seatback and XM Radio in my truck
Now that I'm retired, trying to pick up guitar where I left off in high school.
I am through the guitar 1 sections of HW2H and am on to the solo Dan!
Would you share what your setup is for the solo guitar? I am running with an Ephiphone Les Paul Jr put through a G3n board using the "Sweet Lead" patch. As I am practising, I run through headphones. But man it reaches me! I'm feeling that groove laid down by Angus!
Can't wait to get this song down so I can jam through that big old Peavy in the photo!

I'm afraid that I have no ear for matching my simple rig to a band's sound. I dial in what sounds good to me and use that for most everything.
My go to amp is a Hughes & Kettner Tubemeister 36 Combo on 5 Watt Power Soak. Comfortable volume inside and virtually no sound outside. Use the Clean Channel with 25-50% Gain, depending on my mood. I use the Clean Channel 90% of the time.
I have an H9 in the effects loop (on a foot switch) set to Dark Angel; never move it from there. I have a JHS Mufflette Fuzz set to "The Russian" (Star Icon). Love fuzz (even been known to play Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" or "With a Little Help from my Friends" rhythm all fuzzed out!) Have a Keeley D&M Distortion/Boost that I use very occasionally; I tend to use the H&K Lead and Crunch Channels for dirtier rhythm and lead. Also have a Wampler EGO Compressor that I haven't tried to learn yet.
I have the American Strat (pictured as my Avatar) that is my go to practice/play instrument. Has a Humbucker in the bridge position that I can switch either way. I have a Gibson Les Paul Traditional Honey Burst that I love using once I get comfortable with whatever I want to play. Also have a '62 Melody Maker that I baught in 1969 from a high school friend for $20.
Will likely use the Les Paul for everything and switch from my H&K Clean Channel to the Lead Channel for the solo.
You have some great gear there. That MM was a great investment! Wow.
This year the diet is definitely gonna stick!
Thanks!
Mike's probably tired of hearing about bikes and old equipment. AND we haven't even begun to talk about the car pictured in your avatar! Send me an email if I can help answer any other questions, or to continue an enjoyable conversation from Sunny Southern California (although it's currently raining...)
