I am learning to play guitar on a standard steel-string acoustic guitar with a 1.75" width fretboard.

However I also want to play classical guitar which typically has a significantly wider width fretboard.

My fingers are developing the memory associated with my current guitar. Will they have trouble playing on the wider classical guitar?

Thanks,[br]Jack

I am certainly not a so called “professional “ guitarists but I have been playing for over 40 years and play all the advanced methods and songs on Guitar Tricks so I guess my opinion might carry a little weight, I own over a dozen different guitars, many both electric and acoustic of different makes and models and in my humble opinion the answer to your question is absolutely not, once you are capable and comfortable with playing the guitar you now own you shouldn’t notice any difference playing on any other guitar of any kind.
