Hi Everyone,
Just signed up for full access. Pretty stoked. I've been playing guitar for about 10-15 years, but like many, I learned about everything I know now in the first year or two (open chords, barre chords, pentatonic scale, some fingerpicking) but never really got any better because I never really focused on it. Could play parts of songs, but nothing all the way through. Terrible at improvising or using scales effectively.
Then about 4 months ago I signed up for a local School of Rock affiliate Adult Performance Program where I found some others that are 30+ of age with careers who want to also moonlight as rock stars while trying to learn our instruments. We're playing all sorts of rock covers and have our first gig this month!
However, I have no idea what I'm doing as a lead guitar player except just try to memorize solos. And I have major fundamental flaws in my game that I need to shore up.
So that's why I'm here! Any advice on finding the right place to start for my skill level would be appreciated.
Rock on!
