for a school project i need a song that talks about the bad things about religion. any and all help will be appreciated.
To improve technique and of course trying to keep all as clean as possible. I know my own limits and speed limits and so on I never play anything I'm not capable of. That wouldn't make any sense. After three years of playing I tried to play everything as fast as possible and that sounded, I would say, like shit, and I didn't realize that if I'd play bit slower things than I was capable of playing then everything would sound much better.

Bad Religion, by Godsmack. It doesn't really talk about anything, but that's the name.

Motorhead - album : Iron Fist

11. (Don't Need) Religion

Don't need no blind belief
Don't need no comic relief
Don't need to see the scars
Don't need Jesus Christ Superstar
Don't need no Sunday Television
Bet your life you don't need religion

Don't need no time for prayer
Don't save no knee-pads for me up there
If your head's alright, ya don't need binoculars to see the light
Ya don't need no miracle vision
Bet ya life etc.

I don't need no Santa Claus
Don't believe in fairies no more
Don't need to go to confession
I'm already trying to fight depression
Don't need no exorcism
Bet ya life etc.

ClawFinger - album :ClawFinger

1. Two Sides

There's nothing a god can give to me that I can't give to myself
I put my beliefs in the things I believe and a god can take care of himself
There's not enough love in the world for me to think about wasting my time
It's not that I don't believe at all but I can't need a heavenly sing
I can achieve the things I need without getting down on my knees
I can respect your religion but I don't want to pay your fees
I don't want to hear you talk about things you think that I need
So don't help me back on my feet again until you can hear me pied
Just look in the holy book of crooks and tell me what you can find
All the rules and regulations made to manipulate your mind
Don't pretend that you're blind, just open your mind and study historical times

The bigger the loss
the bigger the cost
the bigger the cross
and its crimes

I don't believe in god that I need to worship
I don't believe that I need to get down on my knees
I don't believe that voice from above can help me
I only believe in that I can see and the things I can achieve

Whatever belief you belong to there's still always a reason to doubt
And there's always another opinion as to what life is all about
There's always a bigger dimension and a different point of view
So I don't want to try to change you that decision is up to you
Whatever your final choice is and however you chose to live
You better be happy for what you can get and happy with what you can give
There's only one thing to remember there is only one thing you can do
And that is to do unto others as you'd have others do unto you

Two sides two sides to every story
two stories more makes four new ones to chose
Four sides four sides to every story
four stories more makes eight new ones to chose
Eight sides eight sides to every story
eight stories more now which one should you chose
now which one can you use

D.R.I. - album : Crossover

10. No Religion

Won't see me on my knees
Take my soul and save it, please
Ten hail Mary's for my sin
Paying heaven to get in
Got no money for your basket
A million times you can ask it
Find your bible far too odd
Ain't got time for your god
I've made my decision
Don't want your religion
No more church-bound prison
Or jerry falwell television
Don't forget, he's coming back
So put your dollars in the stack
The second coming's getting close
So pay up now and get the most
Form a line for all to pay
And do the same next Sunday
Step right up and clean your soul
Single file, young and old
I've made my decision
Don't want your religion
No more church-bound prison
Or jerry falwell television
Wash your brain, a strange obsession
You're an angel, post confession
Holy book tells right from wrong
Last donation, overdrawn

Kreator - Album : Cause for conflicts

2. Catholic Despot

Catholic's dictator
Swine without compasion
No respect for others life
Godsent corrupt saint

Rampant, organized crime of the cross
Rituals justified ways to express
The oldest lie in support of the

Heartless motherf$%?/
Sympathy there's none
You immoralize prevention
Abortion is not a sin
Heaven none of you'll ever be saved
Awareness drown in devotion
Follow the rules
Dig your own grave

Murder under the cross
Profit ways don't leave no
Room for the scum
Open your eyes the messiah
Will never come (your f$%?/' messiah)
You're killing the poor

There is no justice
There is no law
There's no messiah
There is no saviour, there is no god

The truth you teach it ain't
No truth to me
the things you see are not
The thing that I see

Crosby Stllis & Nash had a song called Cathedral which kinda sums up the atrocities of religion. I believe it went something like this (picks up guitar and plays open G chord)

Open up the doors of the church and let me out of here
Too many people have died in the name of christ for anyone to heed the call
So many people have died in the name of christ that I can't believe it all
now I'm standing on a grave of a soldier that died in 1799
and the day he died it was a birthday, and I noticed it was mine

sorry, thats all I remember, cool tune though.

I like a sentence from Pantera´s song called Heresey (´cause it´s true) and it goes somthing like this:

...´cause religion gives ´em reason to fight, sacriface, die for pride.

what's with rockers, especially heavy metallaers(ever heard of jazz singers dissing religion?) and religion?especially christianity.coz i never hear people dissing allah(the muslim version of god),mohammed(the muslim equivalent of jesus),buddha(buddist jesus,i think),vishnu(hindu god),and so on?
i think they do it to create publicity(cheap move,if you ask me,let your music do the talking),and end up spoiling the name of rock, which is ,imo, some of the best music you will ever get to hear.coz a lot of people associate rock with devil worship(notice, not worship the hindu,taoist,buddhist...version of the antagonist supremas, just the devil).my folks would never allow me to listen to rock music at home, let alone give me money to buy it,or buy me a guitar so i learn how to play "devil-worship music".the perception probably denies lots of kids a lot of musical inspiration.
these fools should just grow up and leave god alone.if you don't give a phuck about someone or something, then why you talking about it?
as for the bad things in religion, especially christianity and islam, that's another thing.coz yeah,a lot of evil is committed in the name of religion.and talking about that is ok.
and hey,if some tv evangelist goes on air and talks about how jesus died for you and stuff, and that is what you call religion, then if you in turn go on stage(and releasing a song on some recording medium is the ultimate stage)and state there's no god, don't need god, don't the scars, whatever, then even that which you're saying is religion as well!!so what do you mean there's no religion?
billie myers,in the song "should i call you jesus" says some stuff that might be what you're(whoever started this thread)is looking for.look it up from a lyrics website.

It basically has to do with rebellion and going against the establishment. Everybody thinks they have to be cool, so they write songs about how bad the establishment is (in this case Christianity). Nobody writes songs against other religions because they're not associated with the establishment (at least here in America).

I think it´s time to get over religion stuff. It´s so boring ´cause it has been around for so long. But than again we can´t sing about love, sunshine and war either. We must find a new subject soon. I think Dream Theater lyrics are amazing. Like The Great Debate wich is about DNA stuff. Cool subject. Whole scenes from a memory is about the same thing and it´s cool with epic stuff but than again stuff like Rhapsody and all those farytales are boring as hell. It´s important to write about reality but it must be orginal.

thanks for all the help. i decided not to go so specific as religion and went with Gamma Ray's "dethrone tyranny."

i appreciate the help.
To improve technique and of course trying to keep all as clean as possible. I know my own limits and speed limits and so on I never play anything I'm not capable of. That wouldn't make any sense.
