Also I've dabbled with the piano before. When your looking at a keyboard, you see why certain intervals have the names they do, or why chords like dominant 7th or minor 6/9 have those names.
Also, I beleive it is a requirement in some music colleges for students to take keyboard, for this excact reason. I know it is at Humber College. I'd like to end up there some day.
