or for the same price try to get fender's blues junior, 15 watt tube amp.
altough many people change the cabinets on it, this amp still rocks.
the 60 watt fender is nice as well, has a good clean sound and the distortion is good as well but misses that special warm sound tube amps have

but i know better.
It is not I who am crazy.
It is I who am mad.."

I would recomend the Crate GFX 212T. It's got 120 wats two 12" speakers and built in effects. The price is around 400 bucks new. If you were going to spend a 1000 bucks you would have some money left over for some foot toys or a good processor. This amp is very versitile. It has three channels, clean, overdrive and lead.

There's no substitute for expeience. So get out there and break some strings on stage.

Fender '65 Deluxe Reverb Combo Re-issue, for $660.

Extremely low price- I did a pricematch at music123 (guitartrader has it for $699), and i believe this deal is one of the best you can find (other htan my LP deal)

vox is alright but i find it more of a blusey tone, do you agree? So therefore i think of it as a good blues amp. Has anyone haerd of line 6 amps, are they any good?

Try a Blue Voodoo, which I believe is by Crate. It's model number is like BV-[4 numbers] if they don't call it by the Blue Voodoo. I played on one the other day (a $2000 BV head and cab) and it sounds great. Very nice clean tone as well as good distortion. Also, it's a LOUD system. If you put it above Vol. 3 you're asking for busted eardrums...
"You must stab him in the heart with the Bone Saber of Zumacalis... well, you could stab him in the head or the lungs, too... and the saber, it probably doesn't have to be bone, just anything sharp lying around the house... you could poke him with a pillow and kill him."

i got it guys, i tried a trayner today. I forget the model number but it had 80 watts of power and great versatility...but not so preprogrammed like the line six. The price is $800 canadian so about $600 - $500 american. The best part is that is all tubes baby! This was one mean amp! POWER was unbelieveable, the tone was nice and warm. Best amp ive heard in the price range.

the list would be like this:
1)trayner 80 watt (all tube transistors baby!)
2)marshall (half tube, half non-tube)
3)line 6 spider (lots of effects and presets)
4) fender (great versitility but didnt like the tone)

I havent heard anything about trayner, so im wondering if they are a canadain company :). Does anyone have any feedback?

i dont exactly get the acronim POD so i cant tell you. However line 6 has its strength in variety. Its modeled after different amps like fender, marshall, vox etc so if your into different styles its great. And the output is fairly loud and has good tone, but because i like rock, im more prone to marshall but the yorkville/trayner is really where its at. Once again the line 6 is good but more for effects and different sytles of play...but it looks really nice with lotsa lights on the spider models!

sorry guys, i just clued in that you meant pod as in the band and not another amp...:0. It will hold its own with pod, it has two settings that will but a really dirty channel at work, there called chrunch and INSANE lol. Yeah line 6 can pull of POD better then (in my opionin) deffently fender and vox, but im hereing great things from crate....

You're very welcome. I was born in Ontario (yeah, pstring, that's in Canada. Is New York in the States? :p), long enough ago to see Yorville sound grow into the major player it is today. Traynor amps were big here. My first 'real' amp was a YB1-A with a 212 cab. They were, and still are, just about bullet-proof, and the waranty will cover those occasions too.
