Hi there

Please can you advise the guitar tunings right at the beginning of a lesson and even make note of the tunings on the title page?

It is really frustrating that you only get notified of the tuning perhaps on the second page. It would also be good that there is the facilty to filter all the songs in different tunings so that one can practise all these songs without having to retune every time.

What lesson are you working on? When it's relevant (usually on song tutorials), the tuning & key is mentioned in the introduction lesson.

On some older lessons it's part of the gear & tone lesson (lesson 2). In either case if you have to retune in order to learn a song or do a lesson, then it's just part of the territory of guitar playing.

That's an interesting idea! You should suggest that to GT support. I'm not sure there are enough songs or tutorials with alternate tunings to warrant adding that feature. But it could be worth mentioning.

Hope that helps!

Hi Andrew.colomb,

I understand your frusration here. For the most part, all of the lessons and songs are in standard tuning, but if they're not, the instructor will call it out in the video, just like what Christopher said.

Also, your idea of having an option to find all of the lessons that use alternate tunings is a pretty neat idea and I will forward the idea to the team!

Best,

Billy

Many thanks. Chris, you are absolutely correct and have no aversion to retuning the guitar as you say, it is great practise to retune and to play in different tunings. It is just a bit of a pain and takes up sometimes valuable time to keep having to retune and just thought it would be a good idea to see the tuning on the intro page rather that have to wait until you get to the gear, tone and tuning page.

Many thanks admin for considering this.

It's a fair point. Thanks for bringing it up.
