F Sucks!!!!

Lol...

My poor thumb... I'm going from an F to an Fm, so I'm trying to keep the first fret barre (kinda - just the first three strings), but I can't seem to get enough pressure for that final string to RING! Any help, or is it the standard answer again (practice practice practice...)

lol... yeah I figured ;)

I played for about an hour + 1/2 last night... you just don't notice the time go by sometimes :)

They still give me trouble, but at least they sound like chords now!

Get an old acoustic guitar with strings about a 1/2inch above the fretboard and keep practicing until you have blood blisters underneath your blisters, and when it feels like your fingertips have been smashed with a hammer, you'll know that you just about got it down............

F still hurts after all these years at least on my old Harmony with the half inch action so when I play that guitar I just barr the whole first frett you know power chords on a clasical guitar much easier then again I had my arm half ripped off three years ago and am just now getting back to form good luck

Here's a cool, oriental-sounding chord based off an F major.



E:|--0--
B:|--0--
G:|--2--
D:|--3--
A:|--3--
E:|--1--



As an added bonus, it's way easier to play than a regular F major. Finger an F major, and lift up your index finger so that's it's just holding down the F note on the low E string.

Acoustic just hurts. Soaking your hand in warm water before you play really helps loosen your muscles.
